vonwonginspiration: Love for fire Wishing you guys all a very merry christmas from Toronto! Took this shot the day before I left LA over in Salton Sea with a bunch of new friends. Salton sea is a crazy place with a failed ecosystem where the entire beachline is made of dead fish bones and the beachline is surrounded by post-apocalyptic-esque semi rotted building husks.  Took us 3h30 minutes of crazy driving around and scouting for locations and racing against the sun but we finally managed to find this awesome beach after speaking with some locals.  I met Toge, the fire dancer/model/fashion designer, at a completely random fire event while playing tourist with DAS and felt that I absolutely had to make this shoot happen before I left and thanks to the new friends that I made along the way we managed to toss the entire shoot together in less than 3 days of planning! Das AngelResult of a late night photoshoot in the center of downtown Paris. Unsatisfied with the first couple shoots with Pyrotechnician Andrey Das, we got together one final time the night before we left France to do an epic shoot in front of a church with flaming ropes and an impressive 5 gallons of fluid. The challenge was once again to do the entire shot in camera and blend flashes, multiple exposures and fireballs all without using photoshop. I’ll be doing a writeup quite soon upon my return back to Montreal on how multiple exposures can really get you some great results straight out of camera!

Since January 24, 2004, the Palais de Tokyo is THE place where Burn Crew Concept organizes burner’s gathering. On January 21, 2012 it was the eighth anniversary of ”fire evenings at the Palais”.

Thanks to you all for this MAGIC evening :D


The weather allowed us to share one of the best nights of fire for the last 8 years, the association BCC wishes to thank Pierre, Vincent and Sophie from showflamme.be who installed the ark ;)
